Ashley Railway Station connects the village of Ashley, Cheshire with daily Northern services to Manchester via Stockport and Chester. Now unstaffed, the station was first opened to serve a joint partnership of railways in Cheshire in 1923. Today the station is located between Mobberley in the south and Hale in the north, and is located only five miles from Manchester Airport.
Trains to Ashley call in both directions on an hourly basis during the week, and more frequently at peak times. Trains call every two hours on Sundays, including through trains beyond Manchester to Southport via Bolton. The station was a request stop only until 2010, and amenities remain basic to this day. Platform 2 has a single waiting shelter, and bench seating is available; as there are no ticket machines, tickets must be purchased at home or onboard from a ticket agent. Timetable posters and a public telephone are available for passenger use, and both platforms have step-free access.
