One of three stations serving the harbour town of Ardrossan, North Ayrshire, Ardrossan Harbour Railway Station connects the Scottish coast to Glasgow Central via the Ayrshire Coast Line. First opened in 1987 as a replacement for the closed Winton Pier station, today the Ardrossan Harbour station is the main departure point for ferries to Brodick on the Isle of Arran. The station is only a mile away from Ardrossan South Beach, and is served by hourly ScotRail services to and from Glasgow Central. Services conclude after 22:00; five trains to and four trains from Ardrossan Harbour operate on Sundays.
The station is unstaffed and features a single platform and shelter. There are no ticket machines or gates, and tickets must be purchased before travel or from a ticket agent on board the train. The station is only a short walk from Ardrossan town and the Caledonian MacBrayne terminal building, connecting passengers to the Isle of Arran.
