Trains to Ansdell & Fairhaven

Ansdell & Fairhaven train station, previously known as Ansdell’s Gate and Ansdell’s Halt, is a stop on the Blackpool South to Preston line. Hourly services to Preston and Blackpool depart on weekdays.

Originally an island station, Ansdell now only has one track which runs past its southern side. The northern side of the platform is accessed by a ramp from the nearby Woodlands Road. Blackpool is a 15 minute train journey from Ansdell Fairhaven station. Journeys to Preston take 30 minutes and Manchester is 1 hour and 30 minutes away.

Adjacent to Ansdell & Fairhaven’s station platform is the famous Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club, which hosts both the Open Championships and Women’s British Open. The station’s proximity to the course means it becomes much busier during competitions as it is one of the main arrival and departure points for spectators.

Fairhaven Lake and the Ribble Discovery Centre are also served by Ansdell & Fairhaven Train Station. The lake and promenade are a 10 minute walk away and are popular with tourists, who flock here in summer to see some of the 250000 birds which make the area their home.
