Abererch train station is an unstaffed request stop on the scenic Cambrian Coast Line, which runs from Pwllheli in North Wales to Aberystwyth or Shrewsbury. Shrewsbury is a journey of 3 hours and 39 minutes from Abererch and Machynlleth is around 2 hours 15 minutes. Pwllheli is just a mile to the west.

The town is home to a small holiday park located next to the beautiful Abererch Sands, which extends along the coastline to join the busier Pwlleli beach. On a clear day the views along the Llyn Peninsula are stunning, from Harlech Castle in the east to St Tudwells in the west.

The single platform station can be accessed by request; passengers should tell the conductor if they wish to alight there. It is situated on a level crossing and has a small amount of seating and a shelter. Daytime passenger trains to and from Abererch train station run every two hours during the week. There are three trains on Sundays during the summer months and just one in winter.
