Escalator upgrade at Euston station from 8 June 2020

We are replacing the escalators between the main concourse and the Underground station at Euston.

Why are we doing this?

The current escalators are old (some are over 12 years old). With rising numbers of station users (up 50% over the last nine years to 57 million in 2019*), these escalators need to be replaced to avoid breakdowns.

New escalators will mean passengers will benefit from smoother journeys and less disruption.

What does this mean for passengers?

While we carry out this work, there will be reduced access to the escalators between the main concourse and the Underground. The existing lifts will remain in use.

Please allow more time for your journey as the station will be busier. You may have to queue to access this area.

We are working with our train company partners and Transport for London to make journeys flow better through the station and keep passengers informed while the work is underway.

If you can, please use a nearby station and ask staff for directions to your destination.

If you require assistance with your journey, please consider booking this with your train company ahead of travel.

We apologise for any inconvenience while we carry out this essential work.
