We always want you to get the best price. That’s why there’s no booking fee when you buy same-day tickets in our app.

So, if you buy a ticket on the day you travel, you’re more likely to see pigs fly than find cheaper tickets anywhere else.

In fact, we’re so sure about it, that in the off chance you do, we’ll pay the difference.*

How does it work?

1. Book in our app

We sell on the day train tickets for all the major train operators in the UK

 

 

2. Found a cheaper fare? 

If you've then found a cheaper price for the same train ticket for your same journey, take a photo (that shows all the Best Price Guarantee conditions) and send it to us at best.price.guarantee@info.thetrainline.com within 5 days of purchase

3. We'll do the rest

Our customer service team will then review your request and respond to you as quickly as possible

 

Best Price Guarantee conditions

  • For our On the Day best price guarantee: tickets must have been purchased on day of travel in our app
  • For LNER, Grand Central, Lumo and Hull Trains routes if you purchase between 6 Jan and 28 Feb: tickets must be purchased in the app but all tickets are included
  • Contactless fares (including Oyster) are excluded
  • Tickets must be valid for same day of travel
  • Tickets must be valid for the same class of travel
  • Tickets must be valid for the same train journey
  • Tickets must be valid for the same train operator
  • Tickets must have the same code*
  • Tickets must have the same restrictions (e.g. Thameslink only)
  • Tickets must be valid for the same number and type of passengers
  • Tickets must have the same Railcard(s) applied to the booking
  • The price of the cheaper ticket must be clearly shown in the evidence
  • Must be a UK-based customer

 

*The ticket code is listed in the terms and conditions of your ticket. View your ticket in our app and tap Ticket Conditions to view the 3 letter code.

Need to make a claim?

To be eligible for a Best Price Guarantee refund, you must supply sufficient evidence of the lower fare ticket. If you have a claim you'd like to submit, please email us at best.price.guarantee@info.thetrainline.com and attach evidence that shows that the lower fare matches the Best Price Guarantee conditions set out above.
