How to get to Ischia

With Trainline you can buy tickets for the integrated Trenitalia + SNAV and Trenitalia + Alilauro ticket and reach Ischia in comfort. Here's what you should do:

  • From your departure station, reach Naples by train
  • From Naples station, go to Porto Beverello
  • Embark on the SNAV or Alilauro ferry (depending on the port of arrival in Ischia)

This travel option allows you to purchase both train tickets with a single purchase (Frecce, Intercity or regional, depending on your departure station) and ferry tickets that take you to the island from the port of Naples Beverello.

Furthermore, some tickets also include the shuttle ticket that connects the Naples Central station with Beverello port: this is specified when booking.

To go to Ischia, all you have to do is…

  1. Open our site or app
  2. Set your departing station
  3. Select "Ischia Porto" or "Ischia Forio" as destination to include Alilauro ferries, or "Ischia Casamicciola" to include SNAV ferries

#ThisIsIschia: why visit Ischia in 2024

#ThisIsIschia is a campaign launched by the Ministry of Tourism and Enit to promote the beauty of the green island all over the world, from January to April, to attract Italian and international tourists (mainly from Benelux, United States, United Kingdom, France, Spain and Germany).

The project was created to send a very specific message: the landslide that hit Ischia in the night between 25 and 26 November 2022 did not affect the beauty of this island.

Local inhabitants, tourists, but also influencers and tourist guides are called to tell the story of the island by following the common thread of everyday life: it is the tradition kept in everyday life that makes Ischia a magical place to be discovered.

Now that you know that reaching Ischia is convenient and that you can book both the train and the ferry on Trainline, taking advantage of Trenitalia's integrated travel option. Rush towards the green island and share your photos on social networks with the hashtag #ThisIsIschia .

Ischia: what to see?

An island of rare beauty, the green island needs no introduction: it is the perfect place for those who love unspoiled nature, the sea and trekking.

  1

Baia di Cartaromana

Roman remains, thermal water pools, view of the Aragonese Castle. It was once an island, today it is connected to the mainland. Don't miss this perched cove.

2

Terme di Poseidon e di Cava Scura + La Scannella

Thermal baths carved into the rock, there is also the possibility of taking a natural sauna.

3

Cava dell'Isola

The only beach without bathing establishments on the whole island. We advise you to arrive early, as tourists and locals love it and it is often crowded.

5

Fumarole

Bring eggs, potatoes or fish, condiments and foil, and cook with steam from the sand. Even swimming, you can admire an incredible sight.

7

Baia di Sorgeto

Small quarry where thermal water flows: here, thanks to the way the boulders are arranged, you can lie down in the hot water from April to October.

4

Sant'Angelo

One of the most picturesque corners of the island, despite having lost some of its authenticity. Here each bathing establishment has its own thermal pool.

6

Cornetti di Calise

At breakfast and, indeed, at any time of the day, they are a real must. Free your mind and bite into a croissant at the port of Ischia.

8

Monte Epomeo

The highest mountain of Ischia, the wildest area, the most pristine panorama. Follow the trekking paths and reach the top with the Hermitage of San Nicola.
