Greta Munari

Italian travel writer

Greta joined the Trainline team in 2018. Since then, she has been writing about travelling by train around Italy and between Italy and the rest of Europe. She's also been exploring the UK by train after moving to London, where she currently lives.

Born near Milan, Greta has always enjoyed discovering new places by train, especially the areas around the lakes between Lombardy, Piedmont, Veneto and Switzerland. With her GPS always on, from a young age Greta has loved long journeys, especially to explore Africa, and has lived in Italy, the UK and the US.

When she is not travelling, you can find Greta at the pub sipping on a Gin and Tonic, at the gym training in climbing or at the theatre watching a musical. She also has 6 cats at the moment (and keeps counting...)

Favourite train trip

My favourite train trip will always be the one from Milan to Paris: there's nothing like zooming through the Alps, admiring the scenery from your window seat, and arriving straight into the heart of the City of Light, my favourite city!

Getting from Milan to Lugano stress-free in just over an hour

May 2022

" The journey only lasts 1h 13m, so I preferred taking the train rather than driving and risking getting stuck in traffic."
