Travelling by train to Tate Britain is super-simple. The nearest railway station to Tate Britain is Vauxhall, which is served by South Western Railway services throughout the day. It's 12 minutes to Tate Britain on foot. Exit the station and cross the River Thames at Vauxhall Bridge, turn right and follow the river along Millbank. The entrance to Tate Britain is a few minutes walk down on the left-hand side. If you arrive at London Victoria (served by Southern and Southeastern trains), exit onto Vauxhall Bridge Road and turn right, follow the road down towards the river and turn left onto John Islip Street, take the 3rd right onto Atterbury Street and Tate Britain is on your left.
