It's easy to reach Sandal Castle by rail. Hop on a train to Sandal Agbrigg, which is served by Northern services from Leeds, Sheffield and Doncaster. From Sandal Agbrigg it's just a 12 minute walk to Sandal Castle. Simply exit the station, and turn left on to Agbrigg Road. Turn left on to Barnsley Road and take the first left. Follow Pinfold Lane to Castle Road; turn right and then left down Manygates Lane where you'll reach the castle ruins.
A visit to Sandal Castle will transport you back in time - it's a great way to spend a day with the family. Wander into the grounds or simply admire the imposing walls from afar.
