About Motorpoint Arena Cardiff

Cardiff's largest indoor exhibition centre and events arena is located in the centre of the capital. It was officially opened in 1993, and inaugurated by a Shirley Bassey concert in front of some 5,500 fans. Since 2011, the Cardiff International Arena has been known as the Motorpoint Arena Cardiff as part of a sponsorship deal. The arena's main exhibition space covers 4,500 square metres and has capacity for 7,500 people. On top of that there's a conference suite and four executive boardrooms, making this one of the most impressive business and entertainment complexes in the UK.

It's no surprise that the arena has hosted some of Wales' biggest national events including music concerts, comedy performances and sporting tournaments. The Motorpoint Arena is the first port of call for major international acts visiting Cardiff, and the list of past performers reads like a Who's Who of pop stardom: The Monkees, Take That, Celine Dion, Kylie Minogue, Beyonce, The Killers, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Iron Maiden, Nicki Minaj and Slipknot. The arena has also hosted the World Professional Pool Championship and the Premier League Darts.
