Travelling by train to the Head of Steam museum is super-simple. The nearest railway station to Head of Steam is North Road, which is served by Northern services throughout the day. The museum is right next to the station, just a couple of minutes' walk away.

You'll find Head of Steam jam-packed with a fascinating historic collection celebrating the town that became known as the birthplace of the railways. Explore their original 1840’s railway station where time has literally stood still for over one hundred and fifty years. You'll also be able to get up close to four historic locomotives including the star attraction, Stephenson’s Locomotion No.1, on loan from the national collection managed by the National Railway Museum.

Visit the Head of Steam - Darlington Railway Museum website for opening information.
