Great Orme Tramway is a funicular tramway that avoids a walk up the steep Great Orme between the town and the views and cafe on top. It’s historic too, and a much more enjoyable way of getting up or down than the paths! Funiculars have operated in Europe since 1862, and in Britain since 1875. It actually operates in two halves - the lower part runs through the streets, then you change trains and head up on to the Great Orme in the second tramcar. It's great fun.

It's easy to reach Great Orme Tramway, in North Wales, by train. Simply hop on a train to Llandudno station and a short walk through the town from the station.
