Travelling by train to Fort Nelson is super-simple. The nearest railway station to Fort Nelson is Portchester, which is served by Southern and South Western Railway services throughout the day. It's 30 minutes to the Fort Nelson on foot. Head up Hill Road as you leave the station and continue until this becomes Skew Road and then Nelson Lane - don't worry you'll see the fort well before this so you'll know you're heading in the right direction.

Fort Nelson is full of wonders for all to enjoy. You'll find it jam-packed with a fascinating historic collection as you explore the ramparts, fortifications, secret underground tunnels, and ammunition bunkers of this fully restored Victorian fort overlooking the Solent.

Visit the Fort Nelson website for opening information.
