Getting to the Devon Railway Centre by public transport is straightforward: catch a train to Exeter St David’s station and from there, hop on the 55A bus towards Cowleymoor, alighting at the Bickleigh Bridge stop. The bus journey should take under forty minutes. Exeter St David’s is served by regular GWR services from London Paddington, Plymouth and Exmouth, as well as South Western Railway services from Honiton – making it easy to reach by train.

The Devon Railway Centre is one of the Southwest’s top railway attractions, with a model railway, Edwardian model village, working narrow-gauge railway and more for the family to enjoy.

More about the Devon Railway Centre

There is so much packed into this Devon attraction that one visit will surely be too little! The fully-functioning narrow-gauge railway will take you and the kids on a tour next to the River Exe and around the Centre – choose between Rebecca, the steam locomotive, or diesel locomotives Ivor and Horatio!

The kids can also ride the miniature railway, play with the model railway, wander through the model village and have a blast in the Play Shed, a former Good Shed converted into a soft play area. If you can tear the little ones away from the attractions, sit down for a snack at the Buffer Tea Rooms.
