Crystal Palace Subway is a remarkable piece of hidden railway architecture, leftover from when the great Crystal Palace attraction was located on this park site. This beautiful vaulted underground structure has the most incredible brickwork and was part of an underground subway linking the massive Victorian-era palace to the now-demolished Crystal Palace (High Level) railway station. It's been open for tours, but at present is closed to the public whilst essential restoration work continues.
It's easy to reach Crystal Palace Subway in South London, by train. Simply hop on a train to Crystal Palace station - then it's closed until further notice for restoration.
