College Lake Visitor Centre is an old quarry that's now become a nature reserve with trails and café too.
It's easy to reach College Lake Visitor Centre, in Hertfordshire, by train. Simply hop on a train to Tring station and then it's about a 3km walk along the canal - a very pleasant little jaunt.
