Ashridge Estate is a much-loved area of the Chilterns - about 5,000 acres to explore. There are open fields and beech woods too. There's a monument to climb when open.
It's easy to reach Ashridge Estate, in Hertfordshire, by train. Simply hop on a train to Tring station and then it's about a 3km walk along footpaths from the station.
