Aln Valley Railway is one of those steam heritage railways that you probably haven't heard of because it's relatively new on the scene. Well worth a visit, this little line runs from its base a couple of miles outside town.
It's easy to reach Aln Valley Railway in Denwick, by train. Simply hop on a train to Alnmouth station - then it's a good 50-minute walk from Alnmouth station, or hop in a taxi for a short ride or use the X18/X20 buses that run up to every 30 minutes.
