About Aberdeen Exhibition Centre

Also known as the General Electric Exhibition Centre and the AECC for short, Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre is a huge business and entertainment complex in the northeast of Scotland. The centre has two hotels, conference facilities and a 4,800-seat multi-purpose arena that can pack in 8,500 people standing. The structure is a feat in itself, with world-class amenities and a large viewing tower that is one of the tallest buildings in Aberdeen. But it's entertainment that lies at the venue's heart, and over the years the AECC has hosted every kind you can imagine.

Sport-wise, it has seen the Aberdeen Cup tennis tournament, Premier League Darts, WWE wrestling, the World Snooker Grand Prix Championship and even performances by legendary ice dancers Torville and Dean. Huge live comedy shows are a speciality too, from controversial Scottish comic Frankie Boyle to arena-packing superstar Michael McIntyre. But it's music events that have put the AECC on the cultural map. Stars who have trod the boards here include Neil Young, One Direction, Rihanna, Oasis and the legendary Dolly Parton - whose tickets sold out in just 10 minutes! If you live near the AECC, there's a steady stream of reasons to go; and if you're planning a rail break to Aberdeen, be sure to check out what's on.
