World-famous Trafalgar Square is surrounded by some of the very best museums and galleries in the world. So hop on a train and explore one of London’s most iconic open spaces with a visit to Trafalgar Square.

Did you know Trafalgar Square was named after Britain’s victory in the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805? Although British forces were victorious Admiral Lord Horatio Nelson was fatally wounded during the battle on his ship, HMS Victory. In his honour, Nelson’s Column was built in the same year and stands at 51.6 metres. A top of the column is a statue to Nelson who has kept watch over Trafalgar Square ever since.

With Charing Cross station just a three-minute walk from Trafalgar Square, you'll be there in no time.
