The Maryport Maritime Museum has a fascinating collection of objects, photographs, and paintings celebrating the maritime, industrial, and social history of Maryport and is well worth a visit.

Getting to the Maryport Maritime Museum couldn't be easier by train either. Maryport Station is just a 10-minute walk from the station, all you need to do is cross Mealpot Road as you leave the railway station and walk straight ahead along Station Street to the main road (Curzon Street).  Then turn right and take the second left into Senhouse Street.  Follow this road to the end and the museum is the last building on the left, just before the bridge across the River Ellen.
