About Lord's Cricket Ground

Lord's Cricket Ground has quite a history. It's over two hundred years old, is known as the 'Home of Cricket' and contains the world's oldest sporting museum. All this makes it one of the most iconic stadiums in the world, and the walk to and from the Victoria Pavilion is one that all the legendary batsmen of the sport have made in course of their careers.

If you want to catch a game at Lord's, the stadium hosts at least two test matches per summer, as well as one-day internationals, some Middlesex home games and all home matches of the Marylebone Cricket Club. Better known as the MCC, the club is the owner of Lord's, and has been the publisher of the Laws of Cricket since 1788.

Although tickets for test matches and other internationals are hard to get, it is possible to watch Middlesex County Championship games for as little as £5, and some MCC home fixtures for free. The MCC Museum tells the story of cricket from the early 18th century to the present day, and includes many iconic exhibits such as the original Ashes urn. The museum is included as part of the Lord's Tour, which runs seven days a week and costs £18.
