We love helping our customers find inspiration for their next train journey. Discover some travel stories written based on our employees' experiences.

Traveling from Florence to Naples with Frecciarossa

I took a Frecciarossa 9527 train for my journey from Florence to Naples. The train departed from Firenze Santa Maria Novella station at 12:30 and arrived in Napoli Centrale at 15:30, calling at Roma Tiburtina, Roma Termini and Napoli Afragola.

Departing from Florence

After spending a lovely weekend in Florence, it was time for me to get back to Firenze Santa Maria Novella station. It took me about 5 minutes to walk there from my hotel. I headed straight to platform 12 as I had checked it in advance on my phone to avoid wasting time at the station.

Boarding the train

Boarding the train was super quick and easy. On the platform, there were clear signs showing where each Frecciarossa class was located, so finding my seat in Frecciarossa Business was a piece of cake!

My seat was super comfy – it was a wide leather reclining armchair with a big table, plenty of legroom and a power socket. Every row was separated by a glass divider for greater privacy and free WiFi was also available. Luckily, I managed to book a window seat facing forwards, which was perfect for enjoying the views, from Tuscany’s beautiful hills to the majestic Mount Vesuvius.

A few minutes after our train departed, we were offered complimentary snacks and drinks – we could choose between a savory and sweet snack, including gluten-free options, and a hot and cold drink, what’s not to like?

Arriving in Naples

Once I got off at Napoli Centrale station, I headed towards Metropark Napoli Centrale bus station to catch the bus bound for Avellino and get back home.

Overall, the journey was very relaxing – I got from one city center to another without having to worry about traffic or parking. Traveling with Frecciarossa from Florence to Naples is definitely a must!
