I want to change my train, do I need to tell you?

You don't need to let us know if you want to change trains, but you'll need to check the terms of your ticket to see if it'll still be valid for a different train.

I've booked an Advance ticket

These tickets are only valid for the train journey you booked. So, if you want to travel on a different train you'll need to change your ticket. Follow our steps on how to do that, here.

I've booked an Off-Peak or a Super Off-Peak ticket

Single tickets need to be used for the same date that you booked them for, but you can travel on any Off-Peak or Super Off-Peak train that's available for your route that day.

If you've booked a Return ticket, then your outbound journey needs to be taken on the same date that you booked it for, but you can travel on any Off-Peak or Super Off-Peak train that's available for your route that day. You'll need to return within one calendar month, on any Off-Peak or Super Off-Peak train that's available for your route. And don't worry, you don't need to let us know which train you're travelling on.

I've booked an Anytime ticket

Anytime Single tickets are valid for any train on the date written on your ticket.

If you've booked an Anytime Return ticket, then you can take your outbound journey at any time, up to five days after the date written on your ticket. You'll need to return within one calendar month from the date written on your ticket and you can take any train that's available for your route. Don't worry, there's no need to tell us which train you're going to catch.

If you need help knowing whether your train is Off-Peak, Peak or Super Off-Peak just put your journey into our train times page and we'll do the rest.
