What to know about Argylle

Everything you need to know about Matthew Vaughn’s spy flick set in a familiar cinematic universe.

Where can you watch Argylle?

Argylle gets a proper theatrical release on February 2, 2024. It is an Apple TV+ film, so it will be available on the streaming service after its cinema window closes. Want to stream it while traveling through Europe by train? Most train stations and train routes offer free Wi-Fi, along with food and beverage options, turning your train ticket into a ticket for your own private, moving movie theater.

When was Argylle filmed?

There are two types of cinephiles: those who think Argylle came out of nowhere and those who’ve been waiting for its release for years. The movie was filmed between August 2021 and January 2022.

What is the movie Argylle about?

Argylle follows an introverted writer, Elly Conway, whose best-selling spy novel plots begin unfolding in the real world. Conway is then dragged into the underground world of espionage, the worst possible scenario for someone who just wants to be left alone at home with their cat.

Is Argylle related to Kingsman?

Yes, though he’s tight-lipped about the hows, whys, and whens, director Matthew Vaughn has said that Argylle does take place within the Kingsman universe. He plans to develop the two worlds in a way that allows them to crossover for a future film in the franchise.

Who is in the Argylle movie?

Argylle stars Henry Cavill as the titular character, and nearly every other top-billed name on the cast list makes the film even more enticing: Bryce Dallas Howard, Dua Lipa, Catherine O’Hara, Bryan Cranston, Sam Rockwell, John Cena, Rob Delaney, Sofia Boutella, and Samuel L. Jackson are all in the film.

Who plays the real Agent Argylle?

According to the cast list, Henry Cavill plays Agent Argylle, but we’re not entirely convinced that he’s the real Agent Argylle. The film’s tagline, “Once you know the secret, don’t let the cat out of the bag,” suggests there’s a twist in this plot. We’ll let you know once we find out.

Is the movie Argyle or Argylle?

The film by Matthew Vaughn is called Argylle, with two L’s and one E. But we can understand the confusion, though. The word “argyle” is a well-known pattern you probably have on a pair of dress socks; the word “Argyll” is a historic county in Scotland.

Where is Argylle filmed?

Looking for the Argylle filming locations you can visit by train? So are we. Until the film releases and we can pinpoint exactly where Argylle was filmed, we’re left guessing, with only hints that it was shot in the US, at several studios in the UK (including Greenford, Park Royal, and Bovingdon in Hertfordshire), and in Greece. The trailer confirms as much: stark white buildings with deep blue trim against a dazzling seaside – that’s definitely Greece. A red phone booth? That’s got to be in our backyard: the UK

Keep your eyes here for a list of Argylle’s filming locations when the cat’s out of the bag. Until then, check out these other filming locations around the UK and Europe:
