Bridgerton season 3: what we know

Though seasons 1 and 2 of Bridgerton were based on The Duke and I and The Viscount Who Loved Me, respectively—books 1 and 2 in Julia Quinn’s series—season 3 will be based on Quinn’s fourth novel, Romancing Mister Bridgerton.

In season 3, the spotlight is on the romance between Colin Bridgerton (played by Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington (portrayed by Nicola Coughlan), so prepare for “Polin” season, as fans have affectionately nicknamed the pair.

The first glimpse of what’s to come was revealed at Netflix's Tudum: A Global Fan Event, where Coughlan shared photos of the delightful pair. Additionally, on Dec. 25, 2023, Netflix released more photos of “Polin”, as well as of the happy couple Anthony and Kate Bridgerton (played by Jonathan Bailey and Simone Ashley, respectively) to tease fans about the upcoming season.

The series is expected to pick up from where season 2 ended, with Penelope heartbroken after overhearing Colin tell guests at the Featherington Ball that he would never court her.

Bridgerton season 3 trailer

In addition to a teaser trailer, Netflix released an official trailer in April 2024. The official trailer, just under 3 minutes long, details the twists and turns of season 3.

When is Bridgerton season 3 coming out?

Bridgerton season 3 will be released in two parts: the first four episodes will be available on Netflix on May 16, 2024, with the remaining four episodes of the season out on June 13, 2024.

Why is Bridgerton season 3 taking so long?

Production for season 3 began in summer 2022. However, it’s unclear how much the writers’ and actors’ strike in the US has affected the release date of the show, as actors cannot promote their projects during a strike.

How many episodes are in Bridgerton season 3?

Like season 1 and 2, season 3 will consist of 8 episodes in total.
