Trains from Madrid to Bari

• You can take your bags on board Frecciarossa trains free of charge.
• In most cases, there are no baggage size limits. You’ll need to make sure that your baggage is compatible with the space available on board.

• Go to the FRECCIABistrò café-bar counter in the middle part of the train to get snacks, main courses, and drinks. Or order your favorite meal from the comfort of your seat on the entertainment portal FRECCIAPlay and use the EasyBistrò service, or ask a member of staff.
• In Business Class you receive a food box containing products differentiated according to the time of day, plus Illy espresso coffee.
• In Executive Class, you get unlimited drinks plus food from a rotating monthly menu with meals ideated by the Michelin Star chef Carlo Cracco.

• You’ll find free WiFi on all Frecciarossa trains. Connect to their entertainment portal called FRECCIAPlay and choose from a wide selection of movies, TV series, live news, eBooks, games, music, and podcasts.
• You can also use the FRECCIAPlay portal to get the latest updates on your journey, as well as book other services that will help you reach your destination.

• Kids under 4 can travel for free if a seat is not assigned to them. If they do have a seat, they can get 50% off Base tickets (Frecciarossa’s standard fare).
• Children aged 4-14 also get 50% off.
• FrecciaFAMILY offers free child travel and adult discounts.

• You can travel with your bike for free on all Frecciarossa trains provided it’s not larger than 80 x 110 x 45cm (31.4 x 43.3 x 17.7 inches).
• Your bike must be disassembled or folded and stored in a bag in one of the dedicated baggage racks.

• Dogs, cats and other small pets can travel for free in a carrier with maximum dimensions of 70x30x50 cm (maximum one per passenger).
• Bigger dogs can travel for only 5 € from Sunday to Friday, and for as little as 1 € on Saturday.
• Guide and assistance dogs are allowed on all trains at no additional cost.

Air-conditioning is available on board. You can also charge your devices thanks to the power outlets you can find at your seat.

With AVE, you can take up to three baggage items, each up to 85 × 55 × 35 cm and 25 kg (290 cm total). Musical instruments are allowed up to 30 × 120 × 38 cm in a case.

If you’d like to stretch your legs and grab a coffee during your journey, AVE trains have an onboard dining car. If you’d prefer to stay in your seat, AVE staff will pass through each car with a food and drink cart.

On AVE trains, you can take advantage of PlayRenfe – their free WiFi and entertainment pass. Giving you access to exclusive content and fast connection speeds, PlayRenfe can be downloaded from the app store on your phone. Once you’re connected, you can access the PlayRenfe portal, where you’ll find exclusive live sport, news, films and TV series.

Children under 3 years old travel for free with AVE, as long as they do not occupy a seat and have their free child ticket. Children from 3 to 14 years old can take advantage of a 40% discount on ticket prices.

On all AVE trains, each passenger can take one bicycle or scooter on board, as long as it’s folded and carried inside a case. Also, the pedals must be removed and handlebars turned 90 degrees. If the sum of the dimensions of the case is less than 180cm (70.8 inches), it's considered as hand luggage. However, if it’s bigger, it will be considered as special luggage (max dimensions 120 x 90 x 40 cm or 47.2 x 35.4 x 15.7 inches).

With AVE, you can travel with a pet as long as it weighs no more than 10 kg (22 pounds) and travels inside a cage or carrier that measures max 60 x 35 x 35 cm (23 x 13 x 13 inches). Your pet must have their own pet ticket, unless you’re traveling with a Premium ticket, in which case the pet ticket is free. Guide and assistance dogs travel for free.

AVE offer a free assistance and care service for people with reduced mobility. To request the service, passengers should contact AVE directly.

• In most cases, there are no baggage size limits – you can even travel with musical instruments and sports equipment. You’ll just need to make sure that your baggage is compatible with the space available on board.

A minibar trolley service is available on all Intercity Notte trains – you can choose from a wide range of snacks and drinks. Vegan, gluten-free and lactose-free options are available too.

Unfortunately, free WiFi is not available on Intercity Notte trains.

• Kids under 4 can travel for free if a seat is not assigned to them. If they do have a seat, they can get 50% off Base tickets (standard fare).
• Children aged 4-14 also get 50% off, or 30% off if they’re traveling in the Comfort couchette or Deluxe cabin Relax.

• You can take your folding bike with you if it’s stored in one of the dedicated luggage spaces.
• If you have a traditional bike, you’ll need to disassemble it and place it in a bag that is not larger than 80 x 110 x 45cm (31.4 x 43.3 x 17.7 inches).

• Small pets are allowed on board free of charge, if they’re placed in a carrier or cage of max dimensions of 70 x 30 x 50cm (27.5 x 11.8 x 19.6 inches). You’ll need to buy a ticket for the whole compartment.
• Bigger dogs are allowed on board if they have a ticket – it’s usually 50% off the Base ticket (standard fare).

Intercity Notte trains have a car with designated spaces for 2 passengers with a wheelchair and 2 companions. You’ll find a wheelchair symbol outside the car.
