The finale of Ted Lasso stuck the landing, but it still stings that we had to say goodbye to the cast of characters we’d grown to love.
The cast of Ted Lasso did a phenomenal job of not only entertaining us, but challenging us to grow a little ourselves. The laughs are interrupted with poignant moments where we’re asked to consider how we’d react in morally gray situations, and most importantly, if we could find it in ourselves to take the high road and forgive those that hurt us.
If you’re new to the Apple TV+ Emmy-winning series, let us introduce you to the Ted Lasso characters that’ll make their way from your TV into your heart. Also consider this a handy guide to how you can get to some of the show's filming locations by train, including London, Manchester, and Amsterdam.

Ted Lasso may have won a National Championship with Kansas college football, but the only victory he chases is being able to help his players grow as people. Straddling the line between idealist and realist, Ted’s coaching philosophy and approach to life is simple: believe.

Coach Beard, played by Brendan Hunt
Assistant coach of AFC Richmond and Ted Lasso’s longtime friend, Coach Beard is a man of few words despite his well-cultured and highly intelligent thoughts. He acts as Ted’s sounding board and confidant, exactly as a best friend should.

Rebecca Welton, played by Hannah Waddingham
Rebecca Welton now owns her cheating ex-husband’s prized possession: AFC Richmond football club. She hires Ted Lasso specifically to sabotage the club, but behind the hurt lies a strong, strategic, and sympathetic woman who redefines revenge when she warms up to Ted’s can-do Kansas attitude.

Nathan Shelley, played by Nick Mohammed
Nate the kit man for AFC Richmond might as well be a practice cone for the level of respect he commands—that is, until Ted Lasso arrives. The mousey man is routinely bullied by the likes of Jamie Tartt and other players, accepting his spot in the pecking order, and wanting nothing more than to be considered part of the team.

Jamie Tartt, played by Phil Dunster
The top player for AFC Richmond, Jamie Tartt is as skilled as a striker as he is at ruffling the feathers of his teammates. The arrogant, albeit deservedly, footballer is known for his flamboyant fashion, blunt demeanor, and Mancunian accent. Tartt also played for a fictional Man City team, but you can see the real Tartt-less Manchester City F.C. play with a train from London Euston to Manchester station in as little as two hours by train.
Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein). Image Credit: Apple TV+.
Roy Kent, played by Brett Goldstein
The gruff and grumpy Roy Kent is as hardened and tough as his South London accent. Captain of AFC Richmond and nearing the twilight of his career, Kent won the Champions League with Chelsea FC years before he landed in Richmond. You can easily get from London Victoria to Fulham Broadway, close to Chelsea's Stamford Bridge stadium, in as little as 20 minutes on the London Underground.
Keely Jones (Juno Temple). Image Credit: Apple TV+.
Keeley Jones, played by Juno Temple
A former model with romantic ties to Richmond’s best players, Keeley Jones is as loud, powerful, and eye-catching as a firework—and that goes double for her vernacular. Initially intimidated by Rebecca Welton, Keeley can’t help but admire and aspire to be like the AFC Richmond owner.
Leslie Higgins (Jeremy Swift). Image Credit: Apple TV+.
Leslie Higgins, played by Jeremy Swift
Assistant to Rebecca Welton, the well-meaning Leslie Higgins was also the right hand to Rebecca’s cheating husband. Though the mild-mannered family man comes off a little too soft-spoken, Higgins’ kindness, loyalty, and propensity for forgiveness makes him a pseudo-mentor to Ted in times of moral ambiguity.
Trent Crimm (James Lance). Image Credit: Apple TV+.
Trent Crimm, played by James Lance
Journalist Trent Crimm, The Independent, speaks with the same pointed tip he writes with. He personifies the theory that the pen is mightier than the sword and leverages the media bias to pen Ted a fool.

Sam Obisanya, played by Toheeb Jimoh
It’s hard not to love the ex-Nigerian Football League defender and forever optimist, Sam Obisanya. Bringing heart to the club in more ways than one, Obisanya has aspirations that transcend the pitch.
Isaac McAdoo, played by Kola Bokinni
Centre back for AFC Richmond, Issac McAdoo has a tough exterior but a soft core. He’s one to both follow the crowd and rally the troops, showing signs of leadership as he grows under Ted’s tutelage.
