What is Standard Premium?
Standard Premium is the new class offered by Avanti West Coast, making it the first train company in the UK to launch an additional class of travel. The Standard Premium Class sits between Standard and First Class and is available on all Pendolino services.

Yes, you can now book your Standard Premium ticket in advance for travel from September.
Can I book a wheelchair space in Standard Premium?
Yes, you can book a wheelchair space by contacting Passenger Assist. The wheelchair space is located in Coach J with access to an accessible toilet.
Can I still upgrade to First Class?
Yes, you can. However, we still recommend you buy your Avanti First Class ticket in advance to get the best fare and guarantee a seat.

Yes. By using Avanti’s At-Seat Order service, you can order food and drinks on board. Simply choose your order and it’ll be brought straight to your seat.
How much does Standard Premium cost?
The price of Standard Premium depends on how far you’ll be traveling. Prices range from £15 for a one-way ticket from Birmingham to London to £30 from Glasgow to London.
Where can I buy a Standard Premium ticket?
You can buy Avanti's Standard Premium ticket on our website or you can upgrade to Standard Premium when boarding your train. To find Standard Premium tickets on our website, click 'Compare all available ticket types' when booking a journey operated by Avanti.
Is Standard Premium available on all Avanti West Coast services?
Standard Premium is available on 80% of Avanti West Coast services operated by Pendolino trains, including all services to and from Liverpool and Manchester.
Standard Premium is not available on Avanti's Voyager trains that run to North Wales, Chester, Shrewsbury and a limited number on West Midlands and Scotland routes.
