If you grew up in the ‘90s, there’s a good chance you were fooled into thinking that Lindsay Lohan really did have an identical twin sister with a British accent.

The Parent Trap came out in 1998 and gave many ‘90s kids their first glimpse of London, thanks to Annie’s awesome house at 23 Egerton Terrace in Knightsbridge. Here’s how to get to her house via train, plus a few other The Parent Trap filming locations in London.

Seeing Double: The Parent Trap’s two filming hubs

Here’s what you need to know about The Parent Trap, a beloved ‘90s movie that we can’t believe is nearly 30 years old.

What is The Parent Trap about?

The Parent Trap has Lindsay Lohan seeing double. She plays dual roles of twins Annie and Hallie who have no idea the other exists until they meet at summer camp. Their birth parents are divorced, so the twins create an elaborate scheme to get them back together: Annie stays in California pretending to be Hallie, while Hallie ventures to London under the guise of Annie.

Who is in The Parent Trap?

The Parent Trap was Lindsay Lohan’s breakout role, playing both lead characters. She was joined by Dennis Quaid, Natasha Richardson, Elaine Hendrix, Lisa Ann Walter, and Simon Kunz.

Is there going to be a sequel to The Parent Trap?

Technically, there was a sequel to The Parent Trap…just not the 1998 version. The Parent Trap was originally released in 1961; a sequel, The Parent Trap II, was released in 1986 as a made-for-TV movie. As for a sequel to 1998 version of The Parent Trap we know and love, there have been talks of a reboot and one of the cast members is down for a sequel; but as of now, The Parent Trap (1998) will stand on its own two (four?) feet.

Did Lindsay Lohan have a British accent in The Parent Trap?

Yes, Lindsay Lohan spoke with a British accent in The Parent Trap for the scenes in which she played Annie. Lohan’s true voice has an American accent, as she was born and raised in The Bronx, New York.

Where did Annie from The Parent Trap live in London?

Annie in The Parent Trap lived in a pretty swanky mansion in London. You can see it at 23 Egerton Terrace, Knightsbridge, SW3, in London. Lindsay Lohan visited the London house from The Parent Trap nearly 20 years later in 2016 for a selfie.

What happened to the Queen Elizabeth 2 cruise ship?

The Queen Elizabeth 2 cruise ship first sailed in 1969 and made its final voyage in 2008. It was sold to a private owner and now is docked in Dubai as a floating hotel. Much of the filming on the Queen Elizabeth 2 actually took place on the Queen Mary.

Where was The Parent Trap filmed?

Filming for The Parent Trap was split between the United States and the United Kingdom. The US crew filmed in Napa Valley, San Francisco, Crestline, Long Beach, Los Angeles, and other nearby locations. The UK scenes were filmed in London.
