Més que un club!

Barcelona is a sports fan’s paradise. FC Barcelona is well known around the world, and seeing a match in Spain’s Camp Nou is a must — even for those who aren’t football (or, as we call it, soccer) fans.

FC Barcelona is more than a club, and Barcelona is more than a football city.

Ice hockey, basketball, handball, you name it, Barcelona has it — including American football. Brush up on your chants for a visit to Camp Nou and explore these other sports stadiums across Barcelona.

Top sports venues in Barcelona for sports fans

No matter which game, match, or round you’re in town for, these are the top sports venues in Barcelona you should snag tickets to.

Camp Nou Barcelona — aka Spotify Camp Nou

Home teams: FC Barcelona | FC Barcelona Femeni

Closest metro stations: Les Corts | Badal

Camp Nou Barcelona is the home of FC Barcelona. Branded under the sponsorship name of Spotify Camp Nou, this stadium opened in 1957 and is currently under renovation. The original name for the stadium was “Estadi del FC Barcelona”, but everyone referred to it as Camp Nou (which translates to “the new ground”). After 40 years of having an informal name, a vote officially changed the stadium’s moniker to Camp Nou.

Visiting the FC Barcelona Museum and La Masia de Can Planes training school during off-season are the next best things to see after watching FC Barcelona play; however, we insist that you time your visit to Spotify Camp Nou during football season once it reopens.

Palau Blaugrana & Palau de Gel

Home teams: FC Barcelona Ice Hockey, Bàsquet, Handbol, and Futsal

Closest metro: Collblanc

Camp Nou Barcelona is part of a sports complex that includes Palau Blaugrana — an indoor basketball arena — and Palau de Gel, an indoor ice hockey arena. They host FC Barcelona Ice Hockey and Barça Bàsquet, respectively. The arenas also host the FC Barcelona Handbol and FC Barcelona Futsal teams.

Stage Front Stadium

Home teams: RCD Espanyol de Barcelona | UE Cornellà

Closest tram station: Cornellà Riera

FC Barcelona isn’t the only game in town. RCD Espanyol de Barcelona football club is only a year younger than its Catalan rivals and hosts matches in their own stadium a few miles from Camp Nou. Visiting Stage Front Stadium for an Espanyol Barcelona match is a much different experience. Expect a rowdier crowd full of locals — not tourists — who are ready to show you how the true Barcelona fan base celebrates match day.

Lluís Companys Olympíc Stadium

Home teams: Formerly Barcelona Dragons

Closest stations: Foc (metro) | Foneria (metro) | Magòria La Campana (tram)

Lluís Companys Olympíc Stadium is the home of FC Barcelona while Camp Nou is undergoing renovations. It was the home of the Barcelona Dragons, a European League of Football team, until 2023. You can still catch the Barcelona Búfals play American football at Camp Municipal de la Barceloneta near Parc de la Barceloneta.

Nou Sardenya Municipal Stadium

Home teams: CE Europa

Closest metro station: Alfons X

Barcelona has no shortage of football and CE Europa adds depth to an already stacked city of stadiums. Playing their home matches at Nou Sardenya Municipal Stadium, CE Europa offers yet another opportunity to catch football in Barcelona — but unlike Camp Nou and the Olympíc Stadium, CE Europa plays only a mile away from La Sagrada Família.
