Looking for a thrilling day trip from Lucerne? Take the train to Engelberg – it’s less than an hour away on direct Interregio services operated by SBB, the main railway company in Switzerland.
Once in Engelberg, don’t miss your chance to get to Mount Titlis for astonishing views. You can either take a cable car or the new Titlis Rotair gondola, the first fully rotating gondola in the world, from which you can see the Uri Alps in all their beauty. The Swiss rail network is operated by SBB. SBB train ticket prices are based on travel and not on the type of trains. You will find available return tickets (standard price, one way or round trip), Multiple journey tickets (for six individual trips on a pre-determined itinerary) and the City-Ticket (including a one-day transportation pass from the city of departure or arrival).
If you’re traveling on SBB’s Interregio train, you’ll find yourself in Economy Class. Here, you’ll enjoy onboard amenities such as power outlets and baggage storage.
