Tickets and Stops

On all Itabus services, you can connect to free ultra-broadband 4/5G WiFi to enjoy unlimited internet access. Itabus uses SD-WAN technology, which integrates security, monitoring, control, and optimization of data traffic. 

Additionally, USB and power outlets (220 V) are available at every seat, so your devices can stay connected and charged.

All onboard seats are reclinable and adjustable, with double armrests (both side and center), an adjustable footrest, foldable table, reading light, and USB outlets. 

All seats are numbered and assigned.

On all double-decker buses, there are vending machines for snacks and drinks in case you get hungry or thirsty.

Available on every bus, cleaned daily.

When traveling with Itabus, you can bring for free: 

• 1 carry-on (maximum dimensions: 42x30x18 cm, to be placed in the overhead racks or under the seat)
• 1 checked bag (maximum dimensions: 80x50x30 cm or 130 cm total, up to 20 kg in weight).

When booking or afterwards, you can add an extra checked bag (maximum dimensions: 80x50x30 cm or 160 cm total, up to 20 kg in weight) for an additional fee.

Special baggage:

• Bicycles (non-electric)
• Surfboards
• Ski equipment.

For special luggage, the maximum dimensions are up to 240 cm (the sum of height, width, and depth) and up to 30 kg in weight. You can add one for an extra fee when booking or later.

Musical Instruments: 

You can count it as a carry-on if it fits within the above dimensions, in which case it travels for free. If it exceeds those dimensions, you’ll need to buy an extra ticket for your instrument and reserve a seat next to yours, provided it does not exceed 150 cm (combined height, width, and depth) and 10 kg in weight.

Strollers:

If you're traveling with kids, you can bring strollers on board for free. However, they must be foldable, and only one stroller per person is allowed.

Wheelchairs:

You can bring wheelchairs on board for free. Please check the availability of transporting the wheelchair in the baggage compartment or passenger area by directly contacting Itabus Assistance.

Itabus is committed to ensuring a safe and peaceful travel experience. The bus fleet is equipped with the most advanced active and passive safety systems, such as ABS, electronic stability control (ESP), emergency braking system (EBA), MAN Attention Guard for driver monitoring, automatic distance control, and full LED headlights, among other devices. 

Additionally, the buses are equipped with features that enhance driver comfort and safety, including voice commands, Bluetooth hands-free system, and a multifunction steering wheel. These systems are crucial for improving travel safety with Itabus.

To further ensure safety, Itabus operates a control room which is active 24/7, constantly monitoring vehicle conditions and traffic. This advanced control room tracks service performance and promptly handles any emergencies.

The buses follow a strict maintenance schedule, both for mechanical components and interior comfort, ensuring the vehicles are always in top condition. Moreover, cleaning and sanitization operations are carried out by specialized companies before every new trip, guaranteeing clean travel environments.

You can bring a pet onboard as long as it weighs no more than 10 kg, is properly vaccinated, and has a health certificate.

When purchasing your Itabus ticket, you must add an adult passenger and enter the animal handler's name in place of the passenger's name, booking a seat next to you, and traveling with the pet in a carrier with maximum dimensions of 30x30x40 cm, which must be kept close by at all times.

If you are traveling with a guide dog, it can travel for free and does not need to be in a carrier.

Only one pet per passenger is allowed.

To board the bus, you’ll need to present a national ID card or passport. Alternatively, you can show a photo ID of the ticket holder.

Itabus aims to get to your destination as quickly as possible, prioritizing safety and alternating driving and rest periods for drivers. In cases of delays or traffic, if the driver exceeds the allowed driving time, a stop will be made for safety reasons. You can ask the driver for the duration of the break. 

All buses are equipped with onboard amenities such as restrooms and, on double-decker buses, vending machines for snacks and drinks, which help minimize unscheduled stops, even on longer routes.

Teens aged 14 to 18 can travel alone only if they have written permission from their parents or guardians, which must be attached to the ticket. The trip must be on national daytime routes (between 06:00 am and 10:00 pm) and without transfers.

You should arrive at the bus stop at least 15 minutes before your bus departs.

No, for safety reasons, your ticket is only valid at the booked stops. You are not allowed to board or get off at different stops.

If your bus is late:

• You can track your bus’s location through our app.
• If the delay exceeds 30 minutes, the Itabus control center, which operates 24/7, will be monitoring your bus and will keep you updated on its status via SMS and email.

If your trip is canceled:

Follow the instructions in the email or SMS sent by Itabus. If you don’t accept the alternative travel solution provided, notify Itabus Customer Service before the new departure time, either by phone or using the online form, selecting the category ‘Rejection of new travel solution proposed due to a disruption’. You can choose to receive a refund in cash or a voucher to use for future Itabus services.
