Almost all of these promotions are valid for tickets in all Frecciarossa classes, though some are not available for tickets in Executive Class. Don’t stress though – we'll provide all the information you need about these offers on this page.
Remember that you can use CartaFRECCIA, Trenitalia’s loyalty card, to get discounted train tickets and earn points for rewards and free tickets. We’d recommend that you save your CartaFRECCIA number to your Trainline account, as some offers are reserved for CartaFRECCIA cardholders only.
Frequent travelers on a specific route can also buy a Carnet of 5, 10 or 15 tickets and save up to 30% on the overall cost!

How do I find Frecciarossa tickets on offer?
Choose the right day and time
In general, you can save more by traveling on Tuesday, Wednesday or Saturday and buying a ticket for a train departing between 4:00 am and 6:00 am.
Use a discount card
Request a CartaFRECCIA and input your CartaFRECCIA number when you buy tickets with Trainline. You’ll get access to offers reserved for cardholders, and you can earn points.

Frecciarossa: Round trip offers
Available on Trainline
Same-day round trip (A/R in giornata)
40% off the full Base fare Sunday through Friday, and 60% off the full Base fare on Saturdays.
Conditions:
- The offer allows you to buy two tickets, one for the outbound journey and one for the return journey, for a return on the same day, on the same route.
- You can buy a ticket in a different class for the outbound and return journeys.
- The offer is valid on Frecciarossa, Frecciargento and Frecciabianca trains, in First and Second Class, Business, Premium and Standard Class.
- Available for purchase until midnight 3 days before the train’s departure.
- The number of tickets is limited and varies depending on the train and class chosen.
- You cannot combine this offer with any other reductions.
- You can change your reservation (once per ticket), ticket (once per ticket) and the name on the ticket (unlimited changes permitted until departure of the outbound train).

Frecce weekday round trip (A/R Frecce in settimana)
40% off the full Base fare Mondays and Fridays, and 50% off the full Base fare Tuesday through Thursday.
Conditions:
- Valid for round trips from Monday to Friday (in the same week, and not on the same day) on the same route and train type.
- You can buy a ticket in a different class for the outbound and return journeys.
- The offer is valid on Frecciarossa and Frecciargento trains in First and Second Class, Business, Premium and Standard Class.
- Available for purchase until midnight 5 days before the train’s departure.
- The number of tickets is limited and varies depending on the train and class chosen.

- With the FrecciaDAYS offer, travel on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays for up to 60% off versus the full Base fare
How the offer works:
- Discounts on Frecciarossa and Frecciargento trains in Business, Premium and Standard Class, as well as First and Second Class. Executive Class and Salottino tickets are excluded.
- You can take advantage of this promotion up to midnight 14 days before the departure of the train.
- The offer is non-modifiable and non-refundable.
- The prices are discounted compared to the full price of a Base ticket, depending on the route and the class chosen.
- The number of discounted tickets is limited, and varies by day, train, and class.
- This offer cannot be combined with other reductions, except those applicable to children.
- All tickets in this offer have a minimum price of €7.90.
- Changes to the ticket or reservation are not allowed, though you can change the name on the ticket as many times as you want from the day of purchase until the departure of your booked train (not after).
- You cannot take a different train to the one booked with the offer.
Freccia 2x1
Travel 2 for the price of 1!
You can save when you travel as a pair on a Trenitalia high-speed train:
- You can benefit from this offer when you travel together with someone else: you’ll get 50% off the full Base fare.
How the offer works:
- Valid on Frecciargento and Frecciarossa trains, either in First Class or Second Class, as well as in Business, Premium or Standard Class. Executive Class and Salottino tickets are excluded.
- You can get this offer up until midnight 7 days before you’re planning to travel.
- The offer cannot be modified or refunded after purchase.
- The prices are discounted compared to the full price of a Base ticket, depending on the route and the class chosen.

Frecciarossa: FrecciaFAMILY offer
Organizing a family vacation is now a little less stressful thanks to Frecciarossa. The FrecciaFAMILY offer is aimed at family groups of between 2 and 5 people, with at least 1 adult and 1 child under 15 years old.
- Free travel for children under 15.
- 50% off the full Base fare for the selected train for other members of the family group.
The offer is valid on Frecciarossa, Frecciargento and Frecciabianca trains, in Business, Premium and Standard Class, as well as First and Second Class. Executive Class and Salottino tickets are excluded.
The number of discounted tickets is limited, and varies by day, train, and class. This offer cannot be combined with other reductions. You can get this offer up until midnight 3 days before you’re planning to travel.
Other conditions to bear in mind:
- It’s possible to make one change to your booking free of charge before your train leaves.
- You can make one change to your ticket before your train’s departure, but you must pay any difference in fare.
- Refunds are possible if you cancel your trip.
- You can change the name on the ticket an unlimited number of times before the train’s departure time. Changes after this time are not permitted.
- You can take a train up to one hour before or after your booked train, paying the full difference in fare between your booked train and the train you take, plus a €10 fee per passenger.
To benefit from this offer, you’ll need to provide a form of ID that proves your age.
FrecciaYOUNG: Frecciarossa student discounts
Are you under 30? With Frecciarossa offers, you can save money.
If you have a CartaFRECCIA and you’re under 30, you can travel on Frecciarossa and Frecciargento trains (Standard and Second Class) for €19, €29 or €39, depending on your destination. These prices do not apply for trips where there is a discount of less than 50% compared to the Base fare.
Remember that:
- You can buy tickets in this offer until midnight 5 days before you’re planning to travel.
- The number of tickets is limited and varies depending on the day and train chosen.
- You cannot change your reservation (date or time) or ticket (route, number of travelers, travel class etc.).
- Refunds and taking a different train to the one specified on your ticket are not permitted.
FrecciaSENIOR
If you have a CartaFRECCIA and you’re 60 or older, you can travel by train from €29!
If you’re a CartaFRECCIA cardholder and you’re 60 or older, you can travel on Frecciarossa and Frecciargento trains at a fixed price, varying based on the route and travel class chosen:
- From €39 for Business and First Class tickets
- From €34 for tickets in Premium Class
- From €29 for Standard and Second Class tickets
These prices do not apply for trips where there is a discount of less than 50% compared to the Base fare.
You can get this offer up to midnight 5 days before the day you wish to travel.
Things to know:
- Changes to your reservation (date, time, name) are not permitted.
- Changes to your ticket (route, number of travelers, travel class etc.) are not allowed.
- Refunds are not permitted.
- Taking a different train to the one specified on your ticket is not allowed.
Frecciarossa Insieme (Together)
With the Insieme offer, you can travel in a group of 3 to 5 people with up to 50% off the Base fare on Frecce trains and up to 60% off the Base fare on Intercity and Intercity Notte (night) trains!
You can travel in a group of 3 to 5 people and benefit from a discount of between 40% and 50% off Frecce trains and between 20% and 60% off Intercity and Intercity Notte trains, in all travel classes (except Executive, Salottino and Excelsior cabins).
You can get this offer until midnight 9 days before your trip for Frecce trains and until midnight 3 days before your trip for Intercity and Intercity Notte trains.
You cannot combine this offer with any other reductions, except those applicable to children.
Things to know:
- Changes to your reservation (date and time) are not permitted.
- Name changes are allowed an unlimited number of times before your booked train departs.
- Changes to your ticket (route, number of travelers, travel class etc.) are not allowed.

Frecciarossa prices
Prices vary depending on the route, date and time chosen for your journey. However, we can help find the best time and price for you. And remember that for special occasions, such as Black Friday, Frecciarossa often offers special prices.
When you make a search in our Journey Planner, we’ll highlight the cheapest tickets with a sign that says ‘cheapest’. This means you’ll always be able to find the tickets with the lowest prices for your selected route.
You can get more discounts if you add your Trenitalia discount card (Carta Verde or Carta Argento) or loyalty card (e.g. CartaFRECCIA): the discount will be automatically applied to your purchase.
Prices vary not only according to the route chosen, but also according to the tariff selected. Frecciarossa proposes 3 tariffs, which have different prices, flexibility options and exchange/return conditions. Read on for more details.
