Trains to Sandhurst (Berkshire)

Sandhurst train station has long served the town of Sandhurst around 10 miles south of Reading in the heart of Berkshire. Interestingly, the site was used as a temporary stop for several years during the mid-19th-century but didn’t officially open until the turn of the 20th-century. Today, it’s managed by Great Western Railway and has 2 platforms used by 150,000 passengers annually. There is no ticket office, nor self-service machines, so passengers are required to purchase tickets online in advance or onboard the train from the guard. It’s unstaffed and has limited facilities including waiting shelters, departure displays and a PA system, but little else. There’s one northbound hourly train direct to Reading, and another hourly train to Wokingham.

If you disembark at Sandhurst, there’s plenty to keep you entertained nearby. If you’ve brought the little ones, you could head to Jake's Playworld  Alternatively, lace up your boots for a scenic walk around the glistening lakes in the area.
