Leuchars train station - sometimes referred to as Leuchars for St. Andrews - serves the Scottish towns of Leuchars and St Andrews, in Fife, Scotland. The original 1848 station was burnt to the ground in 1913, in what was rumoured to be a suffragette protest, and rebuilt later that year. Today, the station runs regular passenger services to Edinburgh and Leeds from platform 1, and Aberdeen and Dundee from platform 2. The station in the Fife countryside is the nearest to The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews, the home of golf, ten minutes away by bus. Tickets for the journeys to the golf course and town can be purchased from Leuchars station, and the bus company ensures there's a bus ready to pick up arrivals and take them to their final destination. Leuchars also serves Scotland's oldest university and alma mater of Prince William, Duck of Cambridge and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge - the University of St Andrews.
