Trains to Edinburgh Airport
Edinburgh Airport has no train station of its own, but it does have strong transport links by bus and tram, from the 24/7 Airlink 100 bus running every ten minutes to Edinburgh Waverley and Haymarket stations with a journey time of 30 minutes, to tram from St Andrew Square (near Waverley) Haymarket or Edinburgh Park stations which takes a little longer than the bus. Connections with the rest of Scotland, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds and London are through Edinburgh City.
About Edinburgh Airport
Edinburgh is Scotland’s busiest airport with over 10.1 million passengers jetting in or out each year at the last count. There are direct flights to over 120 destinations, mainly across the UK and Europe, including the Outer Hebrides, Shetland and Orkney Islands and there are a couple of direct long-haul flights to New York and Abu Dhabi. As you’re passing through, there’s plenty to keep you occupied whether you’re travelling for work or heading off on holiday. Before security you can grab a coffee, snack or a paper, and once you’re airside, there’s a big choice of shops and restaurants.
For those with an eye for designer style, check out Hugo Boss, Kurt Geiger, MAC and Jo Malone, plus a huge range of brands in World Duty Free. You can also pick up everyday essentials or last-minute must-haves from the likes of Boots and Dixons. There’s an oasis of calm awaiting you in one of the four airline lounges, you could enjoy a meal with a difference at EAT and The Gathering, both with a fantastic view on to the runway. And for those with young children in tow, try out the three soft-play areas in the main departure lounge opposite The Liquorice Tree.
