On the Aberdeen-to-Inverness line, Dyce station also sees some trains from Glasgow, Edinburgh and Dundee, too. And ten minutes by rail takes you to Aberdeen, with regular services throughout Scotland, plus direct routes to London Euston, London King's Cross, Birmingham, Manchester, Brighton and Penzance.
About Aberdeen Airport
Aberdeen Airport opened in 1934 connecting the north of Scotland and its islands with London. Since the 1960s, it has been the centre of helicopter operations to link the North Sea oil rigs to the mainland, and it is now one of the busiest commercial heliports in the world, transporting close to half a million helicopter passengers connected to the oil and gas industry every year. When it comes to regular planes rather than helicopters, Aberdeen has flights to over 40 destinations in the UK and Europe, including a wide range of Scandinavian routes.
BMI Regional, Eastern Airways and Flybe have bases at the airport, opening up the rest of Europe to the busy city. The terminal is well-connected in other ways, too, with free unlimited high-speed WiFi throughout the airport. If you'd rather stay offline, get your shopping fix in the usual mix of duty free and high-street outlets around the airport, or hunt down the art gallery exhibiting original Scottish works. For a bit of pre-flight downtime head to one of the cafes or restaurants, or go ahead and treat yourself with a little more luxury with a spot in one of three executive lounges.
