My train was cancelled, can I get a refund?

It's frustrating when things get cancelled, plans with friends, your favourite TV series, your train... Don't worry, you can normally get a full refund from the Train Operating Company (TOC).

Normal ticket refunds can be requested by accessing My Booking

If your train was cancelled or delayed and you had to abandon your journey, we're happy to do the legwork for you and claim a refund on your ticket.

Fill in your details here, we'll contact the relevant TOC and come back to you within 10 days to confirm if your refund has been processed.

If your Eurostar train was canceled, you have 2 options:

  • A full refund of your ticket
  • A free exchange of your ticket on to another service.

Ceske Drahy (Czech Republic)

Deutsch Bahn (Germany)

If your train has been cancelled or delayed by more than 60 minutes, you may be eligible for compensation.

TGV Lyria (France and Switzerland)

Please check on SNCF’s Punctuality Guarantee website, to see whether you are entitled to compensation: sncf.com/fr/engagements/droits-compensation (in French only). Here is the same page translated into English if that helps.

You will need to enter your departure and arrival stations, travel dates and your train number (displayed in your confirmation email or on your tickets e.g. TGV 1234).


Thalys (France, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands)

If your train has been cancelled or delayed by more than 60 minutes, you may be eligible for compensation.
