Business travel with Trainline for Business

You know better than anyone that business travel is never about a single journey. It’s bigger than that. Whether it’s a regular sortie to win customers or a once-in-a-lifetime investor meeting, it’s part of the fabric of your business. Yet it can sometimes feel like the hardest part to plan for, particularly when booking travel for multiple employees, projects and teams.

UK government research suggests that business travel is heavily informed by travel policy, corporate culture and personal preferences. So how can you make sure all three elements are united and ready for a successful trip? By sharing up-to-date, important information on the move. Sharing bookings

Once you’ve signed up for a business account, you can add your colleagues and bosses in the ‘Employees’ section to share all your rail travel information from a single space. Simply click the ‘Invite Employees’ button at the top right of the screen, enter their name and email, and they’ll receive their invitation immediately.

Connecting teams

Once everyone’s signed up, you can add them to individual bookings in the ‘Journeys’ section and the confirmation details will be sent direct to their email. This makes it quick and easy to notify your whole team of their travel arrangements with a single click, and eliminates the need for email conversations, last minute ‘double checks’ and forwarded threads.

Accessing tickets

With Trainline for Business, collecting tickets from the station is easier than ever. Travellers simply need their confirmation number and any credit or debit card: it doesn’t even have to be the one you booked with. On selected routes travellers can even opt to avoid paper tickets altogether – instead they can jump the station queues by downloading mobile tickets straight onto their smartphone.

Handling change

Sometimes plans hit a bump in the road – it happens to everyone. If you need to tweak travel arrangements at the last minute, you can amend journeys and send or resend mobile tickets at any point under the ‘Manage Booking’ section. And if it’s your travellers that change, rather than the route or time, you can add or remove team members at any point before your journey begins.
In the event that the trip’s called off entirely, Trainline for Business also makes it quick and easy to cancel your tickets directly from the ‘Journey’ section.

No-hassle expensing

Expensing processes vary from workplace to workplace, which is why Trainline for Business gives you control over how they’re shared and presented. If your business travellers need to submit expenses individually, receipts can be forwarded to their email, just like tickets. For group expenses you can download a full statement from the ‘Journeys’ section, or set up projects, departments or job codes in our ‘Cost Centre’. This allows you to share specific journeys with the right department, whenever you need to.

From start to finish, your team’s travel needs are integrated into a single platform that lets you share details with the right employee or group, whenever you need to. Travel doesn’t come more connected than that.
