Greater Anglia trains run a service from Southend Airport to London Liverpool Street, via Stratford station. This runs every 15-30 minutes, 7 days a week. You can walk from the airport to the train station in just 2 minutes.

Getting from London Southend Airport to London by Train

Southend Airport train station is only 2 minutes away from London Southend Airport terminal via a covered walkway. A Greater Anglia train service runs directly from London Southend Airport to London Liverpool Street train station via Stratford station. It takes around 45 minutes to get to Stratford station and around 53 minutes to get to London Liverpool Street station from the airport. Trains operate from early morning to late at night, 7 days a week at intervals of every 15-30 minutes.
You can use the London Underground to travel from London Liverpool Street to other London train stations. This allows you to easily reach the other train stations in the UK. If your flight arrives late, you can stay in the nearby Holiday Inn hotel. This is only 2 minutes’ walk from Southend Airport train station – perfect if you also have to catch an early train.

Things to do in London
London Liverpool Street is a busy train station and it has plenty of places to eat, drink and shop. You can drink coffee at Costa or Starbucks, grab a bite to eat at Wasabi or stop in for a quick beer or glass of wine at the Wetherspoons pub. The station also has many stores such as Boots and WHSmith, if you need to pick up some things before your journey.
To get to London’s major tourist sites from Liverpool Street station, you can take the London Underground. The Circle Line runs direct to Westminster station. From there you can visit Big Ben, the London Eye, the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey and the River Thames.
The Tower of London is only an hour’s leisurely walk from Westminster. By crossing the Thames and following the river north then east, you’ll walk past the National Theatre, the Millennium Bridge, Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, London Bridge and Tower Bridge. The Tower of London is just after that.
We recommend that you buy an Oyster travel card from any London Underground station. This will give you cheap access to London’s public transport network.
