Trains to Yate

First opened in 1844 Yate train station saw closure in 1965. After nearly 25 years of being closed the station was reopened in 1989. The station itself sits on the Gloucester to Westbury Line, and all services that stop at the station are provided by Great Western Railway. Services are available to stations including Bristol Temple Meads and Gloucester. Bristol Temple Meads is four stops away from Yate train station a daily service arrives hourly from Monday through to Saturday and once every three hours on a Sunday. The fastest journey time from Yate to Gloucester is 28 minutes. There is just one stop at Cam & Dursley en route to Gloucester.  

There are two platforms at Yate station that are staggered with Station Road sitting in between them. Both platforms are accessible via step-free access. Facilities for passengers travelling from this station include shelters, outdoor seating and a station car park. Passengers wishing to purchase a ticket can do this from the ticket office which is open during the morning from Monday to Friday. When the ticket office is closed, a ticket machine is available on platform 1.
