Trains to Sunningdale glide along the edges of Chobham Common Nature Reserve before coming to a halt in this quaint English village. The original station and was opened by The London and South Western Railway in 1856, but it has since been replaced a modern build, which stands adjacent to a level crossing on the A30. The station is on the London Waterloo to Reading line, with two trains per hour to the capital, taking around 50 minutes.
Sunningdale is noted for its flowers, and you'll see hanging baskets - as well as plenty of florists - up and down the pleasant row of shops around the junction of London Road and Chobham Road, a few minutes' walk from the station. Also within easy reach is Sunningdale Golf Club, offering a majestic course frequently used to stage major championships. It's just south of the station, on Ridgemount Road.

Sunningdale's main entrance leads into a small ticket office and on to platform 2, where you'll find public toilets, bike racks and some seating. If the office is closed, there's a ticket machine outside, and direct access to the platform via a side gate. A footbridge leads to platform 2, but there are no lifts - for step-free access, walk over the level crossing on London Road and turn down the pathway on your left. There's an additional ticket machine on platform 2.
