Trains to Roydon

Roydon railway station has long served the little community of Roydon and the surrounding Essex villages near Harlow. It lies along the West Anglia Main Line which runs north from London Liverpool Street. Unusually, the two platforms do not sit opposite each other with one being staggered slightly further up the tracks. It was opened in the mid-18^th century by the then Northern and Eastern Railway. Later the main station building was sold off to a private investor and transformed in a restaurant. Today, the station and the trains that pass through are managed by Greater Anglia. There’s an hourly direct service to London Liverpool Street in 32 minutes and a Bishops Stortford in 17 minutes.

When you disembark, you’ll find a pretty little village where you can walk along the banks of the River Stort, admire the centuries-old Saint Peter's Church or grab a bite to eat in one of the cosy pubs or restaurants.
