Trains to Pokesdown

Pokesdown train station is situated on the South Western Main Line between Bournemouth and Southampton Central. The station serves Bournemouth’s eastern suburban areas of Pokesdown, Boscombe, and Southbourne. The station originally opened in 1886. Train services operated from this station are managed by South Western Railway which provides a typical off-peak service of two trains per hour in each direction. One of the services is the semi-fast train between London Waterloo and Weymouth and the other is the local stopping service to and from Poole. The fastest journey time to London Waterloo is 1 hour 54 minutes.

Pokesdown train station has two platforms with sheltered seating areas for passengers. The platforms are accessed down stairs from a covered footbridge leading from the station concourse and the main entrance on Christchurch Road. This station is not suitable for wheelchair users and passengers who require level access are advised to use Bournemouth Station. There is a ticket office in the station concourse. Local bus connections can be made nearby on the Christchurch Road.
