Market Harborough train station is located east of the town centre of Market Harborough in Leicestershire, England.

Built by the London and North Western Railway (LNWR) in 1850, Market Harborough was once the largest station in the county, acting as a junction for five different directions at the height of its traffic.

Nowadays, while not as busy, the station continues to see its fair share of commuter traffic, with trains to London running every twenty minutes – the fastest journey taking less than an hour.

Despite the original LNWR line closing and an upgrade to the platform building in the 1960s, the station retains some of its historical charm, with the main station building still standing, having been carefully restored in the early 80s.

The town itself sits on the border of Northamptonshire and Leicestershire and was once a busy crossroads for both road and rail. Lying in an area of the Midlands which was once part of Rockingham Forest – a hunting ground for monarchs, including William I – Market Harborough is steeped in medieval history, much of which is still evident today.
