In 1999 the original Huntly train station was knocked down, and a smaller ticket off was put in its place. The station sits on the Aberdeen to Inverness Line between Insch and Keith. The fastest journey time for this route is 40 minutes. The city of Inverness is approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes from Huntly station.  

The ticket office at Huntly station is open from Monday to Saturday. When the office is not open, passengers can purchase tickets from the ticket machine.  Both platforms are accessible to wheelchair users. Two car parks are available at the station there is no fee to passengers who are travelling from Huntly station. There are two shelters on each platform for passengers to use whilst awaiting their train service.
