Trains to Eccles Road

Eccles Road Railway Station serves the villages of Eccles, Quidenham, and Wilby in Norfolk with regular Abellio Greater Anglia trains along the Breckland Line, as well as East Midlands Trains service on the Liverpool-Norwich Line. On weekdays, westbound trains from Eccles Road depart twice a day. One westbound service is operated by East Midlands Trains running to Liverpool Lime Street via Ely; the other is operated by Abellio Greater Anglia to Cambridge. Two Cambridge bound trains operate on Saturdays as well. Eastbound trains run to Norwich and are operated by Abellio Greater Anglia only. No trains operate from Eccles Road on Sundays.  

Perhaps uniquely, Eccles Road Station predates the actual village of Eccles. The modern village was constructed in the 1990s directly opposite the station; the station itself was constructed in 1845 and named for a now-abandoned village also called Eccles. Eccles Road Station is unstaffed and has basic amenities for passenger use. There is a small car park with four spaces located nearby, and passengers may store their cycles using the storage racks. Customer help points and basic waiting shelters are installed on both platforms.  There is step-free access to platform 1 (eastbound for Norwich) only.
