Trains to Dunston

Dunston Railway Station serves the area of Dunston in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, with regular service on the Tyne Valley Line operated by Northern, who also manage the station. Trains from Dunston depart on an hourly basis in each direction, Sundays included, to both Newcastle and MetroCentre. Newcastle-bound trains depart from the platform 1 side, while MetroCentre trains depart from platform 2. On both weekdays and Saturdays, a limited number of trains bound for Hexham call at Dunston.  

Station facilities at Dunston are quite basic, with only a single waiting shelter on the island platform, timetable poster boards, and customer help points at the station entrance. Passengers travelling with cycles may use the cycle storage facilities present at the station. As there are no ticketing provisions at the station, tickets should be purchased in advance or on board the train from a guard. Inclined ramps provide step-free access to the station.
